Russell Graham, age 42, met an undercover law enforcement officer in an online chatroom on or around May 1, 2020, the office said in a separate release.
Between May 4, 2020 and May 11, 2020, Graham sent multiple images and videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct to the officer. Graham also told the officer that he had an ankle bracelet.
This was because Graham spent time in jail for child pornography-related charges in Massachusetts in 2017, the office reports. He was released because of the pandemic on April 9, 2020.
Graham was later arrested after agreeing to meet up in Nashua, on May 22, 2020, the office reports. Authorities also took Graham's cell phone containing additional pornographic images during his arrest. He later pleaded guilty to distributing child pornography.
“Distributing child pornography is a serious federal offense,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Farley. “In order to protect young people from exploitation and seek justice for victims, we work closely with our law enforcement partners to identify and prosecute the criminals who distribute child pornography.”
Graham is a former employee at the First United Baptist Church in Lowell, the Lowell Sun reported. It was during his time at the church that he was sentenced to 18 months in for distributing child porn, the outlet continued.
